Lever action with threaded barrel?
« on: January 24, 2023, 05:22:23 PM »
Would this rifle be considered a weapon of war? But seriously is it legal? 🤔

🤣 I am actually being serious. Is a threaded barrel on a lever action legal?

I have read the new law, but I think that is OK.  I have a Ruger 10/22 with a threaded barrel.  Does that quality as an assault rifle???  I doubt it.  I assume that rifle is tube fed, if yes it may need to be plugged.

Wouldn't be surprised since threading makes a round more accurate,  just like a sight,  or a forward hand grip,  or a scope, or a brace, or a range, or knowing the wind,  or knowing the distance to target,  or cleaning your weapon, or shooting on the exhale,  or having a trigger finger

Sorry,  I was getting into ATF thought process territory

As far as I can remember, the law only applies to semi auto rifles, semi auto pistols, and semi auto shotguns. Lever actions are not mentioned at all so you're safe.

Not yet...

As sprue said, semi auto,  with removable mags,  that is the begining of each paragraph.

Great thanks! I guess buying a lever action and making it more tactical will be my next project.

Looked at a few, 45 70.   Looks like shoulder might not like it as much as brain.
