Delaware: Housing Reform Bill Passes in Committee!

On June 16, by a unanimous 5 to 0 vote, the Delaware House Administration Committee approved House Substitute 1 to House Bill 357. Sponsored by State Representative John Atkins (D-41) and State Senator Joe Booth (R-19), HS1 for HB357 would prohibit public housing authorities operating within Delaware from regulating, prohibiting or restricting a tenant from lawfully owning or possessing a firearm or ammunition.

Delaware citizens who reside in public housing should be treated fairly under the law and afforded the same opportunity to exercise their Constitutional rights as citizens who own or rent their own homes.

The bill now moves to the House floor and has been placed on the House Agenda, where it will likely be brought up next week.

Please contact your Representative by clicking here and respectfully encourage them to support HS1 to HB357. Your income bracket should have no bearing on your Second Amendment Rights!
