WOW. You all have made me think of things I wouldnt of thought of.  It is always a good ideal to think things through in advance. I also agree attitude means ALOT! Moosie I said before what I did for a living, is your memory slipping lol. Just kidding. I am a electrical lineman for a power company. What bothers me is when I go to bad neighborhoods to shut off electric for whatever reason. Sometimes people get shut off then they tamper and turn it back on themselves. Then we take the meter, then they steal a neighbors and plug it in their house. Then I go take the meter and dissconnect them at the pole . Alot of times they lock their gate and leave dogs out to try to stop us.  But once they have stolen meters and they dont want to be shut off its hard to say what they will do. I have been cursed, surrounded and more ,my old boss was in a fist fight once just for turning off their electric. You never know which person will snap and we cant get the leo"s for every job. I find myself sometimes getting my partner over their fence and I watch the door for them to come out when he shuts it off, their face is priceless when they come out lol . But what Im saying is their not good people and its usually in bad areas, its something I worry about. I looked in the handbook today and didnt see anything anout carrying  ;D

Jeez, they ought to REQUIRE you to carry! If a LEO is not with you, what are YOU supposed to do? Hope it pays well....

Yeah, well, Muleman... my mind has been slipping for some time now LOL  I do remember now that you mention it.  :)

Yup, I'd be carrying if I were you. Sounds like you have every reason to do so!  Of course, one could also argue that should you find yourself in a situation like that to let the local PD escort you etc..  not something i'd want to chance sitting there waiting but hopefully your company doesnt have anything spelled out regarding carrying.

Hawkeye, more power to you!!  Not something I think I'd want to ever do.  But glad that someone is!!  You bring up a very very good point.  Mindset when carrying is HUGE (in my opinion). It is a very large responsibilty to carry and unless you are thinking ahead for whatever may come that day, you might find yourself in a mess!  I encourage everyone to give it some thought about "what would you do" BEFORE you get into that situation!  Love the idea of having your cell on your weak side.  I dont carry my cell on my belt, it's in my pocket or my God forsaken pocket book (good luck finding it with nothing in my hands and in no hurry LOL).  Something for me to think about and change.

Good discussion!!  Thanks.

Well heres an update. A permit holder I work with ask the hr dept about their policy on guns .(Personally I wasnt going to ask). He was told their wasnt any policy, but now they "happen" to be in the process of writing a policy on guns. From what I understand they will allow people to lock up their shotguns in their vehicle " because alot of guys go hunting right after work" . But I am getting the feeling carrying will be frowned on. Thats what I am gathering as well as a few things I have been told. I was thinking about putting something togeather to take to hr so they could see the good reasons to carry. If you all have any ideals that could help my cause please post or send them to me. I was thinking their may be something somewhere that has these things already listed  ???
