OH NO, HOT HERE
« on: December 10, 2024, 11:51:44 PM »
There was a AD in Milford School and a Constable is responsible. https://www.wboc.com/news/milford-school-district-constable-accidentally-fires-gun-in-school/article_5fae7cf0-b73b-11ef-916f-afd47ed0daad.html   I wonder how this is going to be handled.

There is absolutely no excuse for that!  I don't think I would keep one in the chamber in a situation like that. Why take the chance?

UPDATE   https://www.wboc.com/news/update-constable-accidentally-fires-gun-in-evelyn-morris-elementary-school/article_5fae7cf0-b73b-11ef-916f-afd47ed0daad.html    The DSP reported the firearm was discharged because of mis-handling. This officer should be fired. I would also like to know the make and model of the weapon. This is clearly a case of poor training. I also disagree with the last poster. Officers should have a round in the chamber. A weapon for fast defense should not be carried with an empty chamber. It boils down to training and clearly there is a problem here. Again this officer's employment should be investigated. There is another question I have. Why was the weapon unholstered?

RetCapt, I would agree in regular circumstances, but in a school?  Got to use some common sense.  Plus, these 'marshalls' seem to be the Barney Fife type if you know what I mean.  According to WBOC this was the 2nd such incident in two months.  The other one happened upstate.
Regards,
Simon
